MT5 Download with TIOmarkets: How to Install MetaTrader 5
BY TIOmarkets
|February 24, 2026MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is one of the most widely used trading platforms in the world.
TIOmarkets offers MT5 across desktop, web browser, and mobile, meaning you can access your account and trade from virtually any device. This guide explains how to download and install MT5 with TIOmarkets, what to expect from each version, and how MT5 compares to its predecessor MT4.
What Is MetaTrader 5?
MetaTrader 5 is a multi-asset trading platform developed by MetaQuotes. It supports trading in forex, indices, stocks, and commodities from a single interface. MT5 builds on the foundations of MT4 with a broader feature set, including more technical indicators, more order types, additional timeframes, and a built-in economic calendar.
TIOmarkets offers MT5 as one of its two supported platforms, alongside MT4. Both platforms are available via desktop, web browser, and mobile app.
How to Download MT5 with TIOmarkets
TIOmarkets provides MT5 in four versions: Windows desktop, web browser, iOS, and Android. The right version depends on how and where you prefer to trade.
Windows Desktop
The desktop version of MT5 is the most fully featured option. To install it:
- Visit the TIOmarkets platforms page at https://tiomarkets.com/platforms
- Click the Windows download link to download the TIOmarkets MT5 setup file
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen steps
- Once installed, open the platform and log in using your TIOmarkets account credentials
The desktop version requires installation on a Windows machine. It provides access to the full MT5 feature set, including all 38 built-in technical indicators, 44 graphical objects, 21 analytical timeframes, the strategy tester, and automated trading via Expert Advisors (EAs).
Web Browser (No Download Required)
If you prefer not to install software, MT5 is also available as a web-based platform. You can access it directly from a modern browser without downloading anything. The web version supports the full set of order types and hedging, though it has a reduced indicator and charting set compared to the desktop version (30 indicators, 24 graphical objects, 9 timeframes). Automated trading via EAs is not supported on the web version.
To access the web platform, visit the TIOmarkets platforms page and select the web browser option.
iOS (iPhone and iPad)
The MT5 mobile app is available for iOS devices via the App Store. Search for "MetaTrader 5" in the App Store or follow the download link from the TIOmarkets platforms page. Log in with your TIOmarkets account credentials once installed.
Android
The MT5 app is available for Android devices via Google Play. Search for "MetaTrader 5" or follow the link from the TIOmarkets platforms page. Log in with your TIOmarkets live or demo account credentials once installed.

MT5 Key Features Explained
38 Built-In Technical Indicators
The desktop version of MT5 includes 38 built-in technical indicators covering trend, oscillator, volume, and Bill Williams categories. These can be applied directly to charts without any additional downloads. Traders can also create custom indicators using MQL5.
21 Analytical Timeframes
MT5 on desktop supports 21 chart timeframes, ranging from one minute to one month. This is significantly more than the 9 timeframes available in MT4, giving traders more granular options for technical analysis.
6 Order Execution Types
MT5 supports six order execution types, including market orders, limit orders, stop orders, stop limit orders, and trailing stops. It also supports three fill policies: Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, and Return. This gives traders more precise control over how and when orders are filled compared to MT4, which supports four order types and only the Fill or Kill policy.
Built-In Economic Calendar
MT5 includes a built-in economic calendar showing scheduled news events and data releases. This is available directly within the platform on the desktop version. MT4 does not include a built-in economic calendar.
Strategy Tester
The MT5 strategy tester allows traders to backtest automated trading strategies against historical data. The MT5 tester is multi-threaded and supports multi-currency testing with real tick data, making it more capable than the single-threaded tester in MT4.
Automated Trading (Expert Advisors)
MT5 supports automated trading through Expert Advisors (EAs), which are custom scripts written in MQL5. EAs can be created from scratch, imported, or sourced from the MQL5 community. Automated trading via EAs is available on the desktop version only.
One important note for TIOmarkets clients: EA trading is not compatible with TIOmarkets' unlimited leverage feature. Traders who use EAs must do so on a standard margin account.
Copy Trading
MT5 on desktop supports copy trading, allowing traders to follow and automatically replicate the trades of other traders. TIOmarkets introduced copy trading in 2023.
Hedging
MT5 on TIOmarkets uses the hedging position accounting system, which allows traders to hold multiple positions in the same instrument simultaneously, including positions in opposite directions.
MT5 vs MT4: Key Differences
TIOmarkets offers both MT4 and MT5. Here is how the two platforms compare based on the feature specifications published on the TIOmarkets platforms page.
| Feature | MT5 | MT4 |
| Technical indicators | 38 | 30 |
| Graphical objects | 44 | 31 |
| Timeframes | 21 | 9 |
| Order execution types | 6 | 4 |
| Fill policies | Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, Return | Fill or Kill |
| Pending order types | 6 | 4 |
| Built-in economic calendar | Yes | No |
| Strategy tester | Multi-threaded, multi-currency, real ticks | Single-threaded |
| MQL5 community chat | Yes | No |
| Symbols available | 263 | 175 |
| Scripting language | MQL5 | MQL4 |
MT5 is the more technically advanced of the two platforms. Traders who use automated strategies, require more chart timeframes, or want access to the built-in economic calendar may prefer MT5. MT4 remains a capable and widely familiar platform for traders who prefer its interface or already use MQL4-based tools.
