TIOmarkets Account Types Explained: Standard vs Raw vs VIP Black

TIOmarkets offers several account types, each designed around a different approach to trading costs and conditions.
This article covers the three main account types available on tiomarkets.com: Standard, Raw, and VIP Black. It explains how each account is structured, what the trading conditions look like, and which type of trader each account may suit.
The Standard Account
The Standard account is TIOmarkets' entry-level account and the one most traders start with. It is a variable spread account with zero commission, meaning the broker's cost is built into the spread rather than charged separately per trade.
Spreads from 1.1 pips. Spreads on the Standard account start from 1.1 pips. As with all TIOmarkets accounts, spreads are variable and sourced from TIOmarkets' liquidity providers, meaning they tighten under normal or high-liquidity conditions and may widen during periods of volatility or around major news events.
Zero commission. There is no per-trade commission on the Standard account. The total cost of each trade is reflected in the spread.
Minimum deposit of $20 or currency equivalent. The Standard account has the lowest minimum deposit of the three accounts, at $20 or currency equivalent. This makes it accessible to traders starting with smaller amounts.
Unlimited leverage available on MT5. The Standard account is the only TIOmarkets account eligible for unlimited leverage, and this is available on MT5 only. Unlimited leverage on the Standard account operates under TIOmarkets' equity tier system, where the effective leverage available depends on account equity. Margin stop out. The stop out level on the Standard account is 30%. For accounts using 1:2000 leverage, the stop out level is 40%.
The Standard account is available on both MT4 and MT5.
The Raw Account
The Raw account is designed for traders who want access to the tightest possible spreads and are comfortable paying a fixed commission per trade in exchange. Rather than a spread-inclusive pricing model, the Raw account separates the spread from the broker's charge.
Spreads from 0.0 pips. Raw account spreads start from 0.0 pips on major pairs under normal market conditions. These are variable spreads sourced directly from TIOmarkets' liquidity providers and will widen during volatile or low-liquidity periods.
$6 commission per round turn lot. The Raw account charges $6 per round turn lot (i.e., $6 to open and close a full standard lot). This commission applies regardless of the spread at the time of the trade.
Minimum deposit of $250 or currency equivalent. The Raw account requires a higher minimum deposit than the Standard account, at $250 or currency equivalent.
Leverage up to 1:500 on request. The Raw account offers leverage of up to 1:500, available on request. Unlimited leverage is not available on the Raw account.
Margin stop out. The stop out level on the Raw account is 30%.
The Raw account is available on both MT4 and MT5.
Is the Raw Account Cost-Effective?
Whether the Raw account works out cheaper than the Standard account depends on trade frequency, average lot size, and the spreads achieved at the time of trading. For traders placing a high volume of trades on major pairs, the combination of tighter spreads and a fixed commission may result in a lower all-in cost per trade. For traders placing fewer or smaller trades, the commission may outweigh the spread saving. This is worth calculating based on your own trading style before choosing.
The VIP Black Account
The VIP Black account combines tighter spreads than the Standard account with zero commission, positioning it as TIOmarkets' premium account for active traders who want competitive conditions without a per-trade charge.
Spreads from 0.3 pips. VIP Black account spreads start from 0.3 pips, lower than the Standard account's 1.1 pips but wider than the Raw account's 0.0 pip starting point. As with all TIOmarkets accounts, spreads are variable and will move with market conditions.
Zero commission. Like the Standard account, the VIP Black account has no per-trade commission. The spread reflects the total cost of the trade.
Minimum deposit of $1,000 or currency equivalent. The VIP Black account requires the highest minimum deposit of the three accounts, at $1,000 or currency equivalent.
Leverage up to 1:500 on request. The VIP Black account offers leverage of up to 1:500, available on request. Unlimited leverage is not available on the VIP Black account.
Margin stop out. The stop out level on the VIP Black account is 30%.
The VIP Black account is available on both MT4 and MT5.
Shared Account Conditions
All three account types share the following conditions, as published on the TIOmarkets website:
Margin call level: 100%. A margin call is triggered when account equity falls to 100% of used margin across all three account types.
Maximum open and pending orders: 200 per client.
Maximum lots per trade: 20.
Minimum trade volume: 0.01 lots.
Platforms: MT4 or MT5.
Hedging: supported on all accounts.
Deposits and withdrawals: free on all accounts (subject to conditions, including a minimum deposit of $20 or equivalent and having traded before withdrawing without a fee).
24/7 customer support.
Which Account Type Is Right for You?
Each account is structured around a different cost model. The right choice depends on how you trade.
The Standard account suits traders who are starting out, trading smaller sizes, or who prefer a simple cost structure with no commission to track. The $20 minimum deposit also makes it the most accessible entry point.
The Raw account suits traders who trade frequently, in larger lot sizes, and on major pairs where tight spreads matter. The fixed $6 commission per round turn lot is predictable, and for higher-volume traders the all-in cost may be lower than the spread-inclusive Standard account. It is worth calculating this based on your own average trade size before deciding.
The VIP Black account may suit traders who want tighter spreads than the Standard account offers but prefer a commission-free structure. At spreads from 0.3 pips with no commission, it occupies a middle ground between the Standard and Raw accounts in terms of cost model.

A Note on Unlimited Leverage
Unlimited leverage is available on the Standard account on MT5 only. It is not available on the Raw or VIP Black accounts, and it is not available on MT4.
