How to Find Your MT4 Account Number
BY TIOmarkets
|June 10, 2026Your MT4 account number, also called the login, is the unique identifier for your trading account. It is needed when logging in for the first time, when adding the account to a different computer or mobile device, when contacting TIOmarkets support, and when switching between multiple accounts in MetaTrader 4. If the registration email has been lost or filed away somewhere unreachable, there are several other places the account number can be found.
This guide covers five ways to locate your MT4 account number: the title bar of an already-logged-in MT4 session, the Navigator window, the Login dialog, the TIOmarkets client area, and the original registration email. It also explains how to find the number on MT4 mobile and how to manage multiple account numbers when you have more than one.
Why You Might Need Your Account Number
The account number is required any time you need to identify the account or log in to it. Common situations include:
- Logging into MT4 for the first time on a new computer.
- Setting up the MT4 mobile app to mirror your desktop account.
- Logging into the MT4 web platform.
- Contacting TIOmarkets support about a specific account.
- Switching between multiple accounts in the Navigator window.
- Confirming which of several accounts a given trade or balance belongs to.
The account number is typically a string of digits with no spaces or letters.
Method 1: Check the MT4 Title Bar
If you are already logged into MT4, the fastest way to find the account number is the title bar at the top of the platform window.
The title bar shows a string in roughly this format:
[account number]: [account holder name] - [account type] - [server name in brackets] - MetaTrader 4
The account number is the first numeric value, immediately before the colon. For example, if the title bar reads "1234567: John Smith - Demo Account - [SomeServer] - MetaTrader 4," the account number is 1234567.
The exact format varies slightly between MT4 builds, but the account number is always present and always appears in the title bar of the platform window.
Method 2: Open the Navigator Window
The Navigator window lists every account MT4 has connected to. Open it with Ctrl+N if it is not already visible.
Expand the Accounts node by clicking the small arrow or plus icon next to it. The Accounts node lists every account, each showing the account number alongside the holder name and server.
The currently active account is typically marked or highlighted. Other accounts in the list are accounts MT4 has previously logged into and which can be reactivated by double-clicking.
Method 3: Look in the Login Dialog
If you have logged into the account before and ticked "Save account information," the account number is stored and visible in the Login dialog.
Open the dialog via File > Login to Trade Account. The Login field shows the most recently used number; the dropdown next to it lists other previously-used numbers for the currently selected server.
This method works only for accounts that have been logged into on this specific MT4 installation. New accounts that have never been used will not appear here.
Method 4: Check the TIOmarkets Client Area
The TIOmarkets client area is the web portal where account information is managed. Logging in there gives you a list of every TIOmarkets account associated with your registration, including the account number for each one.
The client area is accessed through your TIOmarkets profile login. Once inside, the account section displays each account with its number, type, server, and basic details.
This method is useful when you have lost access to MT4 itself or need to confirm the number for an account you have not yet logged into.
Method 5: Search Your Registration Email
When you register an account with TIOmarkets, an email is sent containing the credentials needed to log in. This email includes the account number, server name, and master password.
Search your email inbox for messages from TIOmarkets. If nothing appears in your inbox, check the spam or junk folder. Many email providers route automated registration emails there by default.
The original registration email is the authoritative source for the account number. If you cannot find it and the account number is not available through any other method, contact TIOmarkets to request the credentials again.
Finding It on MT4 Mobile
The MT4 mobile app for iOS and Android also displays the account number, in a different location than the desktop.
On most mobile builds, the account number is shown in the accounts management section. The exact path depends on the platform and build, but common locations include:
- iOS: Settings > Manage Accounts. The active account is displayed with its number.
- Android: Menu > Manage Accounts. Each connected account is listed with its number.
Tapping or holding an account entry typically shows additional details including the full number.
Working With Multiple Accounts
If you have more than one TIOmarkets account, each has its own number. The Navigator window's Accounts node is the main place to see all of them at once.
The title bar always shows the currently active account. To check the number of a different account, switch to it (double-click in Navigator > Accounts) or look in the Login dialog dropdown.
A common practice when running several accounts is to keep a separate note (in a password manager or secure document) listing each account number, server, and the purpose of the account. This avoids confusion when switching between them, particularly between demo and live accounts that may look similar in the platform.
Practical Considerations
The account number is not sensitive in the same way the password is. Sharing the account number with TIOmarkets support, for example, is normal and necessary. The password, on the other hand, should never be shared.
If you change computers or reinstall MT4, the Accounts list in Navigator starts empty. Account numbers from your prior installation are not transferred automatically; you will need to log in to each account again to repopulate the list.
If MT4 will not connect using a particular account number, the most common cause is mismatched server. The account number is paired with a specific server; entering the right number on the wrong server produces an "Invalid Account" error.
Trading at TIOmarkets
TIOmarkets offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop, web, and mobile, across four account types. The Standard account is created automatically on registration with a minimum deposit of $20 or currency equivalent. The Raw and VIP Black accounts are opened separately through the client area. The Nano account is MT5 only with a $20 minimum deposit, USD only. Hedging is supported on all accounts. A swap-free Islamic account is available; contact TIOmarkets for eligibility and instrument requirements. Copy trading is available on both MT4 and MT5.
